Summary
P-bodies are cytoplasmic mRNA-processing foci containing a variety of RNA-degradation factors. In this study the Beggs lab shows that efficient accumulation of RNA-degradation factors in P-bodies is promoted by regions rich in glutamine and/or asparagine (Q/N rich regions). The presence of these regions in other P-body components suggests a possible general role in localization and assembly of P-bodies.
