Exam Policies
While we hope that the exam period will go smoothly for you we realise that sometimes things may go wrong, and there are support systems and processes in place to help.
If your exams have been affected by circumstances beyond your control, such as injury, illness or mental health issues you can apply for special circumstances.
A Schedule of Adjustments is implemented by the Disability and Learning Support Service after a meeting with them has taken place.
It is a list of modifications to support your studies.
Examples could include:
- Specific examination arrangements
- Giving you information about available technology and personal assistance (such as note-takers, proof-readers or dyslexia tutors)
Please contact the Disability and Learning Support Service team to arrange a meeting if you have a disability, learning difference or health condition that affects your studies.
If you miss an exam, you should contact your Student Adviser or the Student Support Team. If you have been affected by circumstances beyond your control, you can apply for special circumstances.
If you were absent from the first sit of an examination, for legitimate reason, you may be allowed to take the resit examination.
If you need any advice about circumstances that affect your exams please contact the BTO Student Support Team.
