Edinburgh Unicorns
Did you know that Scotland’s national animal is the unicorn? A symbol of power, ferocity, innocence and purity, the unicorn was adopted as Scotland’s heraldic animal by King James I in the 15th century.

You can see representations of unicorns throughout Scotland, from Stirling Castle to mercat crosses in many towns and cities. But we think some of Scotland’s best unicorns can be found right here in Edinburgh!
Unicorn spotting is a great way to explore Edinburgh. This interactive map will lead you to just a few of the unicorns you can see in the city.
