Vlad-Stefan Harbuz

Background

I'm Vlad. I think about why and how socially inherited ideas (schemas) cause us to consent to oppressive arrangements. My main interests are thus social schemas, ideology and the philosophy of work. More generally, I'm interested in political and social philosophy, and epistemology.

I arrived at this topic because I ran a software company for 10 years in which I was the one doing the oppressing. Uh oh!

I still work in software (https://vlad.website), where I try to improve how the Open Source ecosystem is organised in order to reduce exploitation and safeguard our vulnerable global software infrastructure (https://opensourcepledge.com).

In my free time, I am a prolific cat petter. I am always available for catsitting.
