Research summary

My research aims to develop novel conceptual tools in education and pedagogy by exploring academic conducts in the multicultural contexts of Western-leaning higher education in Central Eurasia. It explores and challenges the limits of the ethics of hospitality, such as Derrida’s conditional and unconditional hospitality, by way of theories of relational pedagogy and the anthropology of emotions in learning spaces. It also explores to what extent multicultural education can be a vector of peace, and classrooms places where participants not only "meet to learn", but also "learn to meet".
