Research summary

Yi Fu's research interests include modern and contemporary Chinese literature and film. 

Current research interests

Yi Fu’s current project is titled Left-Wing Decadents: The Unnamed Society and Their Early Cultural Imagination of Russian Literature (1921-1931). This project focuses on the role of the Unnamed Society in the dissemination of Russian literature. It explores the transcultural complexities involved in the writing and translation of Russian decadent and early Soviet literature in 1920s China.

Past research interests

Yi Fu's past research interests include Sinophone Film Studies, especially the observational realism in Taiwan New Cinema. Yi is also interested in contemporary Chinese cinema and the Fifth Generation of Chinese filmmakers. She has explored the representation of women and the collapse of the master narrative in post-socialist Chinese cinema.
