Background
I'm Vlad. I work on the ethics and epistemology of Open Source software. I am also interested in ideology, and I co-organise the Ideology Research Group together with Miranda Heath.
I arrived at this topic because I ran a software company for 10 years in which I was the one doing the oppressing. Uh oh!
I also work in software, where I try to protect the Open Source infrastructure our global tech relies on, often by improving working arrangements for underpaid and overburdened Open Source maintainers.
I work as:
- Executive Director of the Software Stewardship Lab
- Maintainer of the Open Source Pledge, which has raised $7,156,281 for Open Source maintainers
- Adviser to the board of the Open Source Endowment
