Background
Yufeng Li is currently a PhD candidate in Film Studies at the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Prof. Marion Schmid and Dr Fabien Arribert-Narce. His PhD research is titled “Representing the Posthuman: Nonhuman Characters in Contemporary Cinema”. As a film practitioner, Li has contributed to major VFX productions for Marvel and Netflix TV series. He is also an acclaimed independent filmmaker whose films have been showcased in over 30 international film festivals. With a keen interest in posthumanism and extensive experience in the film industry, Li aims to blend theory with creative practice in his research, demonstrating that posthumanism can serve as a conducive paradigm for film studies.
