University Commuter Travel Survey
The University is inviting staff to take part in an annual survey about commuting and travelling to work.
This survey aims to inform improvements to transport services in and around the University and help achieve the net zero carbon target by 2040. It will also inform a review of the University’s Transport Plan for the coming years.
The survey should only take 10 minutes to complete and as a thank you for completing, staff can enter a prize draw to win one of ten £50 Edinburgh Gift Card vouchers. Staff can participate in the survey whether working from home, on campus, or a combination of both.
The last Travel Survey was carried out during spring 2022, as social distancing restrictions were coming to an end. Since then, travel behaviours have continued to change as many staff have adopted hybrid working patterns. This survey aims to capture these changes.
Actions already underway as a result of last year’s survey include more cycle parking, improved public bus service provision and the launch of an electric bike hire scheme for students. Following the last survey, the University developed and adopted a new Integrated Transport Plan for 2023-30 was developed and adopted. You can find out more about this on our website.
