Edinburgh academics join RSE
Eight University of Edinburgh academics have been elected Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

They join this year’s intake of 47, which adds to the Society’s 1,500-strong Fellowship.
Fellows are elected following a rigorous examination of their achievements in their relevant fields.
University Fellows
The Edinburgh staff members elected to the Fellowship are:
- Euan Brechin, Professor of Coordination Chemistry
- John Frank, Director of the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy
- James Garden, Regius Professor of Clinical Surgery
- Iain Gillespie, Innogen Visiting Professor
- Gabriele Hegerl, Professor of Climate System Science
- Andrew Millar, Professor of Systems Biology
- Elspeth Reid, Professor of Scottish Private Law
- Sethu Vijayakumar, Professor of Robotics and Microsoft-RAEng Senior Research Fellow
