The events include shopping evenings in Edinburgh’s city centre and a ‘Firewalk Challenge’.

Money raised will go towards research into conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, autism, cancer, epilepsy, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.

Range of events

Shopping evenings will be held at Molton Brown on 4 November, Crabtree & Evelyn on 11 and 19 November, and Brooks Brothers on 27 November.

Firewalk Challenge participants will attend a training session before walking 20 feet over embers burning at approximately 650 degrees Celsius.

The event will take place on 18 November.

Supporting research

Donations and sponsorship from the events will go towards supporting research and services at:

  • The Patrick Wild Centre
  • The Euan MacDonald Centre
  • The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic
  • The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine’s Hospital for Small Animals

The Patrick Wild Centre conducts research into new therapies for autism and Fragile X Syndrome.

The Euan MacDonald Centre brings together experts from different areas of the University to work on common questions surrounding motor neurone disease.

Officially opened in October, the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic researches new treatments to slow the progression of neurodegenerative conditions including multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s disease.

The Hospital for Small Animals offers routine and emergency care for cats and dogs.
