Principal honoured
The University’s Principal, Professor Sir Timothy O’Shea has received an honorary degree from the University of Strathclyde.

The Principal was awarded an honorary doctorate.
Illustrious career
A graduate of the universities of Sussex and Leeds, the Principal served as Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Open University and then the University of London.
He was appointed Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh in 2002.
He was awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s 2008 New Year’s Honours List in recognition for his services to higher education.
He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the Academy of Social Sciences and the European Coordinating Committee on Artificial Intelligence, among others.
