Recycling improvements
Estates and Buildings is launching highly visible recycling points to help improve recycling rates at the University.

To be introduced this summer, these shared recycling points will consist of three clear-sided bins, each taking paper, mixed recycling, and landfill waste.
User-friendly
The bins are designed to allow people to see the contents in order to feel confident that they are placing the right material in the correct bin.
It is hoped they will eventually replace under-desk bins in office space and academic buildings.
Improve targets
The University is currently achieving a recycling rate of more than 60 per cent of its office waste stream.
This figure is in line with the University’s own targets as well as the Scottish Government’s Zero Waste Plan.
However, Estates and Buildings is seeking to increase this figure by improving the recycling infrastructure within buildings.
