Dr Matheson tribute unveiled
A portrait of the former Secretary of the General Council was revealed at the Council’s annual Christmas party.

The painting of Dr Ann Matheson will hang in Old College.
Acclaimed artist
The portrait was painted by Scottish-based artist Victoria Crowe OBE.
She is regularly commissioned to paint portraits of eminent individuals.
Her subjects have included psychiatrist RD Laing, publisher Callum MacDonald and poet Kathleen Raine.
Far-reaching achievements
Dr Ann Matheson retired from the post of Secretary after eight years’ service.
Among her notable achievements, she initiated away-meetings of the General Council.
These helped the Council reach a greater number of alumni.
Her successor is Dr Simon Cunningham.
