Dr Morgera Contributes to UNEP Course on Environmental Treaties

Dr Elisa Morgera was invited to contribute to the eleventh edition of the high-profile course on multilateral environmental agreements, international environmental law-making and diplomacy organised by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the University of Eastern Finland.

This year's edition of the course, held in Joensuu, Finalnd, from 20-30 October 2014, focused on environmental security. Dr Morgera led a session on the role of the Convention on Biological Diversity in preventing and addressing local conflicts. The course was attended by around thirty participants selected from experienced government officials engaged in international environmental negotiations, representatives of NGOs and the private sector, researchers and academics in the field of international environmental from the North and South.
