Their activities include the publishing of work concerned with the interpretation of art in galleries and museums, the production and dissemination of material related to art interpretation and place through museum and gallery displays, the relationship between gallery visiting, identity, and wellbeing, how learning works in the gallery context and in the institutional operation of art galleries, most recently, in relation to organising learning interactions for young people with artists and contemporary art.
The International Centre for Cultural and Heritage Studies is developing collaborative opportunities within the ARTIST ROOMS Research consortium, related to its core research interests, and involving both staff and post graduate students in producing academic publications and journal articles, student internships, group projects, dissertations and placements; documents informing museum policy, and live collaborative projects with galleries and museums.
