Crohn’s and Colitis UK, has granted just under half a million pounds for their Research Awards, 2016: May 2016
Crohn’s and Colitis UK, has granted just under half a million pounds for their Research Awards, 2016. Six innovative projects are receiving funding to investigate possible causes of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which could eventually lead to new treatments and ultimately a cure. Of the Six projects, two were awarded to researchers within the Gastroenterology section of CGEM, Professor Jack Satsangi and Dr Gwo-Tzer Ho. These important research projects are contributing to furthering the understanding how IBD develops and progresses, and in developing diagnostics and therapies for these unpredictable and potentially life-threatening conditions.
