Celebration for International Women's Day

The EDI committee was delighted to host Emeritus Professor Jean Beggs for a special seminar for International Women’s Day. A full house audience enjoyed hearing about Jean’s prolific career researching RNA biology and her experiences more generally of being a “lady scientist” over the years - including this humorous but outdated newspaper headline. Adele Marston then facilitated a lively conversation on how things have changed for women in STEM over the years. This thought-provoking conversation then continued in the café over refreshments. Thanks to Jean for her engaging and inspiring presentation and to all those who attended.
