Biography

Background

Mia Xie did a MA degree in Philosophy and Economics at University of Edinburgh during 2018-2022. Afterwards, she obtained a MSc in Economics at the University of Edinburgh.

Research summary

Mia's current research interests lie in the areas of macroeconomic theories about inflation and wage determination. She is also interested in certain topics related to information and learning. Additonally, she also would like to make developments on numerical methods for macroeconomic models.

Current research interests

Explaining the degree of inflation persistence by information updating and learning.

examining the effect of minimum wages on labour supply though a partial equilibrium heterogeneous agents model (undergraduate dissertation)
