Background
Yasemin started teaching German language in 2001. She chose this profession because she enjoys working in an international environment and conveying her love of languages to others.
As part of her studies in North-American Literature, Yasemin wrote her MA thesis on 'Magic Realism and Canadian West Coast Fiction'. In addition, she studied Slavonic Languages and Cultures as well as Sociology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. She gained a qualification in Teaching German as a Second Language from the University of Bonn.
Yasemin has taught in Germany and abroad. After completing her studies, she was a teaching assistant and tutor at Kent College, Canterbury. She taught English at Linyi Modern School in Linyi, China. Together with the Goethe-Institute Beijing and publishing companies in Germany, Yasemin and her colleague introduced a German Department at this school.
She was a DAAD Lecturer at the School of Languages and Cultures at the University of Sheffield. Before coming to work in the UK, she taught German Language to American students taking part in the USAC-programme at the University of Lüneburg.
