Research summary
I am most interested in understanding the mapping from sensory input, to neural circuit processing in cortical populations, to behavioural output. In particular, my interests currently lie within the Bayesian Inference/predictive coding framework. Apart from cortical function under physiological conditions, I want to understand how these processes are altered in neuropsychiatric disorders, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). To this end, I employ two-photon calcium-imaging in awake, behaving mice, performing ethologically relevant tasks in virtual reality. This is complemented by further in vitro histological analyses, as well as computational analysis and modeling.
