Background

Dr Thallein Antun is a Teaching Fellow in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at IMES, having first joined IMES as a part-time tutor in 2019. She completed her undergraduate degree in Ancient History and Archaeology, and an MLitt in Islamic History and Historiography at the University of St. Andrews. These were then followed by an MSt, and a DPhil. in Islamic Art and Archaeology, both from the University of Oxford. Her interests include the history and historiography of the early Islamic period, as well as Islamic architecture with specific reference to the early development of the mosque.
