Biography

Background

Soyeon Park is a dedicated and passionate Korean language instructor with the Asian Studies Department at the University of Edinburgh. 

Her interactive classes are designed to help students enhance their proficiency and confidence in using Korean. She adopts communicative and student-centered pedagogical approaches so that students are empowered use the language in real-world situations. By integrating intercultural competence in her teaching, she also ensures that students develop the cultural awareness to succeed in Korean.  Her research focuses on pedagogies that can effectively leverage the factors that motivate students to learn Korean.
