Background

Sophie Marion de Procé is a Lecturer in the Health and Social Care Data-Driven Innovations (DDI) Talent programme. She works on the online MSc in Data Science for Health and Social Care and the Undergaduate Biomedical and Health Applications of Data Science programmes launched at the Usher institute within The University of Edinburgh. She is involved in course development, teaching and assessment.

Sophie is an evolutionary biologist by training. Over the last 15 years, she has done quantitative research on a variety of topics including molecular evolution, human genomics and cancer methylation. Bioinformatics, statistics and data analysis are her favourite aspects of research. Alongside her research, she has provided training in those subjects to a range of students and colleagues.
