Background
Selin received her BSc degree in Sociology from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, and her MSc degree in Research Methods with Education from the University of Manchester.
During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a field researcher in Turkey as part of research projects such as Demographic and Health Survey, and Generations and Gender Survey. After her BSc degree, she began working as a guest researcher at Koc University Child and Family Studies Laboratory in Istanbul on a research project on education policies in Turkey. She then worked as a researcher in the oral history project of Beykoz Kundura, a historical shoe factory in Istanbul.
During her MSc studies, she attended a fully-sponsored Development Fieldwork course module trip to Uganda. Most recently, she was awarded full scholarships by the Confucius Institute Headquarters and Archimedes Foundation for attending summer schools in Beijing Normal University and University of Tartu.
