Background
I am a current Ph.D Candidate in Scandinavian studies at the University of Edinburgh. Having completed an MA (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies, German and European Union Studies, I went on to work as a teacher and lecturer at Rønshoved Højskole in Southern Denmark, where I taught Danish, English literature and Music. Now back in Edinburgh to continue research, I am also teaching on the undergraduate courses 'Scandinavian Civilisation', 'Danish Language 2', 'History of the Scandinavian Languages 2' and 'Scandinavian Languages 2'. I also teach on a number of undergraduate courses in German. My thesis is focussed on language and identity in Sleswig (Southern Jutland) and the interplay of regional, national and transnational identities in minority communities.
I am a regular speaker/attendee of the Nordic Research Network conference series and organiser of the Scandinavian Research Seminar Series at The University of Edinburgh.
