Background

Ross completed an undergraduate degree in genetics at the University of Glasgow in 2018, before spending an additional year studying an MSc in Bioinformatcis to complement his molecular genetics development with training in functional genomics. Ross then began a PhD here as a student of the MRC Precision Medicine doctoral training programme. Ross is part of the Sproul group in MRC Human Genetics Unit of the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) with his supervisor, Dr Duncan Sproul, who focusses  on mechanisms of epigenetic dysregulation in cancer. Ross is interogating the relationship between DNA methylation changes in breast cancer subtypes and how this interacts with transcription factor binding in a sequence-dependent mechansim.
