Rory Smith

Postgraduate Researcher, Postgraduate Research Representative for Philosophy

Background

My current work is focused on problems of personal identity and free will in time travel scenarios, utilising time travel fiction as reference and example to bolster the claim that what actions should be possible in 'ordinary' life should also be possible in time travel, as supervised by Dr Alasdair Richmond (Primary) and Dr Stacie Friend (Secondary). My background is primarily in continental philosophy with special focus on existentialist and German idealist conceptions of intersubjectivity, as supervised by Professor Berislav Marušić.
