Background
I joined the University of Edinburgh as a PhD student in 2001 and undertook a number of postdoctoral researcher positions before undertaking finance and laboratory management roles in the Centre for Inflammation Research (CIR). I was Centre manager for CIR 2016-2023 before taking up my current role as the Business Manager for the Institute for Regeneration and Research. I lead the Business team which provides the financial management to enable the institute to deliver cross-disciplinary excellence in research and teaching. We have two main sub teams of Research Grants and Transactional Finance in addition to collaborative team roles in supporting tenants, recruitment and HR functions.
