Background
Patrick is a PhD student based jointly in Geography (School of GeoSciences) and in Global Agriculture and Food Systems (Vet School). His NERC-funded (via E4 DTP) research focuses on transportation and land use in the context of climate change, equity, and human and environmental health. Previously, Patrick worked in geography and urban planning in Chicago, USA. He was a Geographic Information Science (GIS) Analyst at IFF, a non-profit community development organisation, and a researcher at the Chicago Architecture Center, an architecture and urban planning museum. Patrick holds a master’s degree in geography from the University of Edinburgh. His master’s research looked at Edinburgh’s low car use compared to other UK cities. His undergraduate degree is in history and linguistics from Lawrence University (USA).
