Thesis title: A Phenomenological Study of Transactional Analysis for Bereavement: Exploring therapists’ and clients’ lived experience

Background

I am an integrative counsellor and I hold an MSc by Research in Counselling Studies and a PgCer in Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. My PhD research focuses on the psychotherapeutic approach of Transactional Analysis (TA) for bereavement, by exploring the lived experience of both TA therapists and bereaved clients via focus groups and individual interviews. Also, my PhD follows the Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) methodology principles.

In September 2021, I started working as a Postgraduate Tutor at the University of Edinburgh. To date, I have been a tutor in 11 courses within the School of Health in Social Science.

In addition, I have extensive experience working in clinical settings, as I was working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within the IAPT service of the NHS, supporting people with depression and anxiety. I am currently working as a Senior Counselling Lead within a mental health charity in the UK, offering counselling sessions to children and young people but also delivering training and clinical supervision to volunteer counsellors.
