Biography

Background

As Chief Operating Officer of the Bayes Centre, Neil leads on the development of operational strategy and the delivery partnerships that enable realisation of academic vision whilst establishing the Bayes Centre as an integrated and internationally recognised destination – facilitating translational research, education and knowledge transfer across the University.

Originally joining the University in 1994 as a Youth Apprentice, Neil has a breadth of cross-disciplinary expertise in resource management, strategic planning, transformational change, academic liaison and curriculum development. He has previously served in senior University of Edinburgh Director of Professional Services positions, as a seconded Service Excellence Programme Lead in Student Administration & Support and was Edinburgh’s Alan Turing Institute University Liaison Manager from 2020 to 2023.  Neil is currently seconded as Project Lead of the University’s Marketing & Communications Strategic Change Project.

Beyond the University, Neil is also a member of the HUMANE Annual Conference Steering Group.
