Biography

Background

I qualified in 2009 with an NVQ Level 3 in Veterinary Nursing and began my career working in small animal practice. In December 2013, I made the move into equine nursing, joining the University of Edinburgh Equine Hospital, where I discovered my passion for equine clinical work.

Since then, I have worked across all departments within the equine hospital and completed my Equine Nursing top‑up qualification. Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in medical nursing and have served as the Equine Grass Sickness Nurse for a number of years, providing specialist care for these complex cases, and supporting clients all over the UK.

I was promoted to Deputy Head Nurse in 2018, taking on additional responsibilities across clinical and operational areas, and in 2023 I became Head Nurse. I now manage a large and dedicated team of equine nurses and stable hands, supporting their development and helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the hospital.
