Background
Helen Yull is a dCL3 Laboratory Manager with extensive experience in research and diagnostic laboratory environments. She currently manages the laboratories supporting the Matthews Group, whose research focuses on understanding the life cycle controls of trypanosomes.
Helen has a broad background in laboratory research and diagnostics, having previously worked in areas including Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) research and diagnostics, protein biochemistry, and genetics. This diverse experience has provided her with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, experimental research, and the management of specialist laboratory environments.
In her current role, Helen supports trypanosome research through cell culture and microscopy-based approaches, while overseeing the safe and effective operation of the laboratories. Her combination of technical expertise, diagnostic experience, and laboratory management skills makes her an experienced and valued member of the research team.

Masters by Research (MRes) in Molecular Microbiology, University of Edinburgh, (2002 - 2003)
BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, Liverpool John Moores University, (1998-2002)
