Biography

Background

Barbara joined the CME in 2006 as a Clinical Skills Facilitator and is based within the Emergency Care, Clinical and Resuscitation Skills team (ECCARS). Barbara teaches on all aspects of the Clinical and Resuscitation teaching of the 6 years of the undergraduate programme.

Barbara has had a varied Nursing career with a special interest in Intensive Care (General and Neuro-medicine) and Community District Nursing. Since staring within the ECCARS Team, she has a keen interest in education and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education.

 Whilst responsible for certain aspects of clinical skills, she has a keen interest in trying to make the students' transfer of clinical skills for the simulated environment into the clinical ward area more linear.

Joint Lead for  infection Control for the MBChB Y1-6

Lead for IV Therapies for final year students

Lead for Peripheral cannulation Y4

Lead for Nutritioanl Assesment Y2

Teach all clinical and resuscitaiton skills throughout the MBChB Y 1-6
