Background

Glen Cousquer is an interdisciplinary Lecturer in One Health and Conservation Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and specialist in awareness based systems change. He specialises in working reflexively across disciplines in developing co-creative approaches to the complex health challenges we face. He is also a writer, photographer, International Mountain Leader, mindfulness teacher and Veterinary Surgeon who actively crafts narrative and photography to help individuals, communities and organisations understand, explore and re-imagine their relationship(s) and relational practices with the more-than-human world. His work is about opening to genuine meeting and dialogue, communing and connecting, systems thinking, holism and compassion. Glen's interests cover a number of subject areas including deep ecology, environmental education, awareness-based systems change, human-animal relations, ecological approaches to veterinary medicine, One Health approaches to animal welfare and wild animal medicine, wildlife, birds, mountains, mountaineering and mountain tourism. His most recent book Wild Places Wild Encounters explores Edinburgh’s living landscape on foot seeking to nurture a reconnection with the wild in the heart of Scotland’s capital
