Miriam Huxley

Thesis title: An Okanagan Story (a novel); Women in the Woods: a Critical Reflection on Pioneer Women & their Legacy in Canadian Literature

Background

Miriam Huxley is originally from British Columbia but has spent the last five years in Edinburgh . She’s currently in the final stages of a PhD in Creative Writing a. She was the 2018 winner of the Sloan Prize for prose in Lowland Scots vernacular and her work has been published in Hillfire Press, The London Reader, From Arthur’s Seat, and HARTS & Minds.

She holds a MFA Creative Writing (UBC) and MSc Creative Writing (Edinburgh). She is an Associate Fellow of the HEA.
