Background
Michaela graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018. She initially worked in small animal general practice whilst volunteering at a wildlife hospital, before spending several years working in exclusively exotic animal practice. She started an exotic animal internship at the Royal Veterinary College in 2024 before joining the Dick Vet Rabbit & Exotic Practice team in March 2025. She is currently completing her ECZM Residency in Small Mammal Medicine & Surgery alongside her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Zoological Medicine).
Michaela is involved with the teaching of our undergraduate students during their exotic animal rotation, and regularly presents lectures and seminars for other veterinary professionals on the care and treatment of exotic animal species. At home, she has two rabbits and a Syrian hamster of her own.
