Project activity
English Medium Instruction: Digital innovation for teacher training and developing Best Practice
This project aims to develop tailor-made teacher professional development (TPD) resources to support English Medium Instruction (EMI) practitioners (both EMI content lecturers and English teachers) in Indonesian universities, targeting especially vocational universities with emerging EMI needs. The project responds to growth in EMI as part of the internationalisation of higher education agenda in Indonesia. It builds on our research highlighting challenges to successful and sustainable EMI policy implementation, particularly student support and teacher training for both content and ELT practitioners (Galloway et al, 2017; Galloway & Sahan, 2021; Galloway & Ruegg, forthcoming).
Current project grants
The British Council UK - ID English TPD project is funded by their Digital Innovation Grant.
