Background
Currently I am Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh with a PhD in Education. My doctoral reserach focused English Medium Instruction (EMI) in online learning environments, in which I explored a theoretical framework on Digital-Linguistic Preparedness for Online EMI, examining how students navigate the dual constraints of English language medium and digital environments in higher education.
I'm experienced educator with extensive international teaching experience and a strong collaborative approach, and I am to continue developing my research and teaching practice. My research interests center on EMI provision and pedagogy in higher education.

Past research interests
English Medium Instruction: Digital innovation for teacher training and developing Best Practice This project aims to develop tailor-made teacher professional development (TPD) resources to support English Medium Instruction (EMI) practitioners (both EMI content lecturers and English teachers) in Indonesian universities, targeting especially vocational universities with emerging EMI needs. The project responds to growth in EMI as part of the internationalisation of higher education agenda in Indonesia. It builds on our research highlighting challenges to successful and sustainable EMI policy implementation, particularly student support and teacher training for both content and ELT practitioners (Galloway et al, 2017; Galloway & Sahan, 2021; Galloway & Ruegg, forthcoming).Project activity
