Marnie Pardo

Background

I am a PhD student in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Edinburgh. My doctoral research explores cognitive profiles in individuals living with motor neuron disease (MND/ALS), focusing on how patterns of cognitive strengths and difficulties vary within individuals. I am particularly interested in how these profiles relate to everyday life and decision-making. Using data from the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen (ECAS), the research aims to better understand these individual patterns and their impact, with the longer-term goal of supporting more personalised approaches to assessment and care.

My wider research interests include neurodegeneration, the impact of cognitive and behavioural changes on individuals and caregivers, and decision-making in ageing and end-of-life.
