Background

Marende graduated cum laude from Utrecht University in 2022, after which she began working in general practice and completed a rotating internship in the Netherlands. Following her internship, she briefly worked as an Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) veterinarian, gaining valuable experience in high-pressure clinical settings. She then joined Utrecht University as an exotic animal veterinarian. Since April 2025, she has been part of the Dick Vet Rabbit and Exotic Practice team, where she continues to pursue her passion for exotic animal medicine.

Although she has a broad interest in all exotic species, her main passion lies in small mammal medicine.
