Background

Lucy joined the Social Responsibility and Sustainability team in November 2022. Her role focuses on coordinating work and supporting University wide efforts to embed climate and sustainability into the academic curriculum. She primarily does this through influencing top-down strategy, supporting educators and creating engagement opportunities for students. 

Prior to this role she worked for EAUC Scotland, the alliance for sustainability in tertiary education, as sustainability in the curriculum project officer, supporting national efforts to progress education for sustainable development in universities and colleges across Scotland.

Project activity

  • Lead a Teaching Climate and Sustainability community of practice for all University of Edinburgh staff and students in collaboration with Learning for Sustainability Scotland. 
  • Support the Climate and Sustainability in Curriculum working group as part of the Curriculum Transformation Project. 
  • Co-ordinate the SRS departments living lab projects, which are research projects students undertake within their curriculum that contribute to the sustainability of the University.
  • Manage an SDG curriculum mapping earth fellowship program.
