Thesis title: The Influence of Food Diary Social Media Content on Body Image Perception and Disordered Eating Behaviours Among Young Adults

Background

Louisa is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at the Eating Disorders and Behaviours Research Group, where she studies body image concerns, disordered eating behaviours, and eating disorders across clinical and community populations.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Macau and a Master of Social Work from the University of Melbourne. Her research explores various aspects of youth mental health, including internet addiction, eating disorders, and psychosocial wellbeing, with an emphasis on practical applications.

 

Louisa's current work examines how social media affects body image in adolescents and young adults. She is particularly interested in developing practical strategies to help young people maintain healthy self-perception in our digital world. Beyond her academic work, she is involved in mental health advocacy and contributes to community initiatives promoting young people's wellbeing.

Research summary
