Thesis title: Eye-Based Insights into Hormone Therapy and Dementia: personalising brain healthcare
Research summary
I am a current PhD student working with Dr Tom MacGillivray, Professor Miguel Bernabeu, Professor Rebecca Reynolds, Professor Baljean Dhillon, Dr Sarah Grergory and Professor Graciela Muniz-Terrera . The project aims to use retinal images to investigate the impact of menopause and hormone replacement therapy on women's dementia risk.
I previously completed my BSc in Mathematic and Biology at the Univeristy of Edinburgh, where my final year project was stochastic models of cancer metastasis. I then went on to work for the university as a research associate on the Scottish Optometry Ophthalmology Network e-Research (SCONe) project. This inspired me to apply for funding to undertake a PhD utilising the world leading SCONe repository for women's health research.
