Liam Wilson

Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology

Background

I am a board-certified veterinary anatomic pathologist (European College of Veterinary Pathology, ECVP) working at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh as a Veterinary Anatomic Pathology lecturer. During my time in pathology and clinical practice, my main interest area has developed to encompass conservation based pathology, particularly regarding how pathological findings in wild species can be used to inform conservation in the field. As part of this work, I lead the postmortem examinations of a mortality monitoring project in Scotland's red squirrels, results of which feed into various local and national volunteer, private and public wildlife agencies to inform both local and national decision making across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
