Background
Although I am a Visiting Researcher, I used to be a Systematic Reviewer at the Advanced Care Research Care (ACRC) where I conducted systematic reviews and meta-analyses to investigate the complex interventions and outcome prediction tools for community-dwelling older adults. Apart from carrying out research, I contributed to developing and delivering lectures for the Research and Evidence Based Medicine module at the Edinburgh Medical School and supervise undergraduate and taught postgraduate students in Edinburgh and other universities.
I completed my doctoral degree in Chinese Medicine and Evidence-Based Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. My research involved strengthening the evidence base for functional dyspepsia in Chinese Medicine with novel epidemiological methods. I also have expertise and extensive work experience in evidence synthesis, epidemiological research, and mixed-methods studies. Until today, I have published over 15+ academic articles in peer-reviewed journals, including Lancet Healthy Longevity, JAMDA, Age & Ageing, BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care, BMC Medical Research Methodology, Phytomedicine, and Journal of Ethnopharmacology.
I was a Chinese Medicine Practitioner at the largest non-profit organisation in Hong Kong, providing Chinese medical services and supporting Integrative Medicine programmes. I also used to work as a Research Intern at the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Control and as a Research Assistant at the School of Public Health, University of Hong Kong, for projects on Influenza Epidemiology and Public Health Education.
