Background
Lauren completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree in 1999, followed by a rotating internship and a Master of Veterinary Science degree at the University of Melbourne. Her research focused on feline parasitology and the diagnosis of lungworm in cats. Lauren is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine. She completed specialty training in small animal internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2009. Lauren has worked in specialty private referral medicine in England and Australia, and was a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Melbourne from 2013-2021. She joined the University of Edinburgh in 2022. Lauren is passionate about both clinical work and teaching, and has a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education. Her clinical interests are broad and include respiratory medicine, immune-mediated disease, feline hyperthyroidism, gastrointestinal and hepatic disease and kidney and lower urinary disease.
