Background
Laura Nicolo Duenas is an Italian and General English Teaching Fellow, as well as the General English Short Courses Coordinator.
She joined the Languages for All team in 2017 and began to teach Italian. She has extensive experience in language teaching, and curriculum development.
In 2023 Laura helped introduce General English as one of the languages offered at Languages for All, also teaching displaced persons, and putting into practice trauma-informed pedagogy.
Laura was brought up in a multicultural home, and has always enjoyed being around people from different countries, which led her to move to the UK, thus being able to teach languages in a more international setting.
She has been teaching languages since 2005. She used to spend the academic year teaching in Spain and the summers teaching international students in the UK.
Intercultural communication fascinates her, as well as learning about different cultures.
Laura always tries to create a welcoming learning environment, and finds very rewarding helping students improve their language skills, be it for their holidays, to have better job prospects, or simply because they are interested in the language and culture.
