Biography

Background

My name is Lara and I joined R(D)SVS in August 2026 as a weekend ACA at the Hospital for Small Animals. Veterinary nursing has always been my ambition since I was a little girl. After leaving school in S5, I gained experience in several veterinary practices and volunteered at the SSPCA in Edinburgh for a year. I later joined Thistle Vets as a VCA in early 2025 and started studying  my Veterinary Care Assistant course, which I'm due to complete in late September 26'. Outside of work, I'm kept busy caring for 8 of the Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled horses, as well as volunteering as a trainee coach. I'm really looking forward to gaining quality experience as part of this new role.
